Project Summary: Many investigators at SRC are collecting survey data online either cross-sectionally, longitudinally, or with ecological momentary assessment (EMA) techniques. These investigators typically manage their own data collection efforts and employ different methods and software from one another. This creates a doubling of efforts to hire staff, develop technical systems, program surveys, and conduct data collection. These are often smaller studies or studies of specific populations for which SRO is cost-prohibitive. To address the inefficiencies, we propose developing a new app to assist faculty in collecting mobile survey data. This app will be accessible to most sample members because it will be web-based and therefore will not require them to download it from an app store – an obstacle to using most conventional apps for data collection (Keusch et al., 2022). The app will be designed for investigators to use across SRC and ISR. In addition to developing the new app, we propose conducting a pilot test and exploring how it can be adapted for various projects across SRC.
